She has also contributed chapters to local history, publications, broadcasts on Midlands Radio 3 and is a columnist for the "Westmeath Examiner".
Ruth is also a tour guide and every bank holiday Monday she gives walking tours of Old Mullingar. She also works with schools helping to introduce children to the history and heritage of Mullingar.
